Full description
Start your day with pickup at your Tel Aviv Hotel, then take a scenic drive through the Galilee Mountains to the far north of Israel. Visit Banias Nature Reserve (Caesarea Philippi), which Alexander the Great called “The Gateway of Hades” because of its mystical beauty. Take a short forest walk to view beautiful springs and rivers, pass under the Roman Bridge, and finally visit the excavations of the famous Agrippa's Palace. Next, continue your ride up the Golan Heights to visit Nimrod Castle, one of the biggest and most well-preserved medieval fortresses in the Middle East. Climb the castle's Defense Tower and marvel at breathtaking views of the Golan Heights, Israel, Lebanon, and Syria. From Nimrod Castle, continue driving up the Golan Heights and enjoy the marvelous views on the way. Drive through the Druze villages to know the life and customs of these very special people. Stop by the beautiful, volcanic Lake Ram to have a nice snack of local Druze food, at your own expense. Resume your tour by heading to Mount Bental, the highest point of the Golan plateau. From here, soak up fascinating views of the whole area, almost to Damascus. Continue along the Golan Heights to enjoy the views of Tiberias Lake and the Galilee. Finally, drive back to Tel Aviv for drop-off at your hotel.
